American neo-Nazi group linked to Russia finances terrorist attacks in Ukraine: The Guardian
For data of the British edition of The Guardian, a neo-Nazi terrorist organization from the USA, which has ties to Russia, offers Ukrainian citizens money to commit terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine. The purpose of recruitment is to attack energy facilities, military and police targets, government institutions, and individual politicians.
It is about a group called “Base”, created in 2018. Its founder is Rinaldo Nazzaro, a US citizen who currently lives in St. Petersburg. In the past, he worked for the FBI and the Pentagon. It is this group, as noted, behind attempts to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in Ukraine, in particular in Kyiv. So, on April 3, there was an explosion in the capital, as a result of which at least one person died.
Geopolitical expert Colin Clark said that due to Russia’s known ties to the leader of Baza — including the granting of asylum to him — there is a high probability that the group’s activities are coordinated by Russian intelligence services. In his opinion, this fully fits into the strategy of hybrid war, which the Kremlin is actively conducting through the support of radical extremist structures.
Despite the fact that in the first years of its existence, “Baza” did not show close ties with Russia, the current changes in its tactics testify to the growing activity of this group on the territory of Europe.
The organization is recognized as a terrorist organization in a number of countries, including Canada, the European Union and Great Britain. At the same time, in the USA, during the presidency of Donald Trump, the investigation of the activities of far-right structures by the FBI was significantly weakened. However, since its foundation in 2018, the group has been under close surveillance by American intelligence services.
