The International Register of Damages Caused to the Russian Federation in All Categories Will Be Operational by the End of the Year: Ministry of Justice
Until the end of 2025, Ukrainians will be able to submit applications to the international register of damages caused by the Russian Federation in all the prescribed categories. About this reported Deputy Minister of Justice Inna Bohatyh.
“The categories are opening gradually, but I hope that in 2025 there will be a significant breakthrough in this direction. Launching such a complex international instrument takes a long time. Ensuring the technical possibility of submitting applications to the Register of Losses and making appropriate changes to our regulatory framework depends, among other things, on the speed of interaction of state authorities.” – explained Rich.
Each new category requires technical training and coordination between several departments, including the Ministry of Statistics, the Ministry of Justice and other relevant ministries. It is expected that by the end of 2025, an international agreement will be signed on the creation of a commission that will consider the submitted applications.
Currently, the registry accepts applications in only two categories: death of a close family member and damage or destruction of a home. More than 14,000 applications have already been submitted in these areas. In total, it is planned to open more than 40 categories under which victims will be able to claim compensation.
