The invitation to NATO is a key part of Zelenskyi’s victory plan: Yermak

The head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, confirmed that Ukraine’s invitation to NATO is an important part of the victory plan proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. This information previously appeared in foreign media with reference to anonymous sources, but now it has been officially confirmed. Appropriate statement Yermak published in his Telegram channel.
“Ukraine’s invitation to NATO is part of the victory plan. I also called on our partners not to pay attention to threats of escalation by the Russian Federation.”, he said.
He said that the plan consists of military and diplomatic parts. According to Yermak, Ukraine has significantly increased the production of weapons – six times, but still does not have enough resources to fully satisfy all needs. In this regard, he appealed to the Western allies to increase military aid and speed up its delivery. The priority areas of assistance are the supply of air defense systems, drones, electronic warfare equipment, long-range systems and artillery ammunition. Yermak also emphasized the importance of permission for Ukraine to carry out strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing knowledgeable sources, reported that the Ukrainian president’s plan includes not only an invitation to NATO, but also a clear path to EU membership. At the same time, the Times newspaper wrote that one of the points of the plan is to provide Ukraine with security guarantees similar to Article 5 of the NATO Charter, but direct accession to the Alliance is not mentioned.
