The issue of the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be raised at the first meeting with the Russian Federation: Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated, that the issue of Zaporizhzhya NPP will be discussed during the first diplomatic meeting with Russia.

According to him, the nuclear power plant is currently not functioning because there is no Ukrainian management there:

“And that is why, today, this nuclear plant is not working, because there is no fair and professional management of Ukraine. It is not working, it is degrading, and it is very dangerous. And in any case, the issue of the Zaporizhzhia plant will be during the first meeting in the diplomatic format of the parties – the issue of ZNPP will be raised.”

Zelenskyi emphasized that he has repeatedly appealed to provide access to Ukrainian specialists to the occupied nuclear power plant, and also raised the issue of stopping attacks on the energy infrastructure.

“We had another moment when the former American administration approached us that it is very dangerous to attack Russia’s energy system. And I said that if you suggest that we do not shoot at their energy, they should not shoot at ours. But this did not happen, because Russia is not interested.” – said the president.
