The Kremlin asked for an explanation of Vance’s words about sending US troops to Ukraine

Russia expects to receive an explanation from the United States through the words of Vice President J.D. Vance that Washington does not rule out sending American troops to Ukraine in the event of a failure of negotiations. This was stated by Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmytro Peskov, rosZMI reports.

“These are new elements of the position, we have not heard such formulations before, they were not voiced. Therefore, of course, during the same contacts we talked about, of course, we expect that we will receive some additional clarifications.” Peskov noted.

We will remind that US Vice President JD Vance suggested the possibility of sending US troops to Ukraine, pointing out that the American side has both “economic and military levers of pressure”. According to him, US President Donald Trump may change his mind on certain issues during the negotiations. However, Washington intends to convince Moscow that it will achieve more during the negotiations than at the front.

At the same time, the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, on the contrary, ruled out the possibility of sending American troops to Ukraine as part of any security guarantees.
