The leader of the Romanian presidential elections, Simiòn, demands ‘compensation’ from Ukraine for assistance.

The far-right politician George Simion, who won the first round of the presidential elections in Romania, demands “compensation” from Ukraine for the aid provided. About this informs Digi24.
“Ukraine needs us, not we Ukraine. Ukraine must respect the community of Romanians living in Ukraine. We want compensation for Romania’s participation in hostilities so far.” – emphasized Simion.
As the politician noted, the format of such “compensation” may become a subject of negotiations. Determining his position on the Russian-Ukrainian war, the election favorite said that its basis is “neutrality, not escalation and not the supply of weapons, but joining Trump’s policy.”
Earlier, Simion stressed that his country, like other European states, “suffered a lot from this war,” and emphasized the need to achieve peace, “which the Trump administration also seeks.”
We will remind you that on May 4, the first round of presidential elections took place in Romania. Pro-Russian Simion and independent candidate Dan, who has a pro-Ukrainian position, made it to the second round. The second round is scheduled for May 18.
On the day of the vote, Simion announced that if he won, he would give the leadership position to his pro-Russian ally Georgescu. The very next day, on May 5, the Prime Minister of Romania, Čolaku, resigned after the unsuccessful performance of the candidate from the ruling coalition in the elections.
