The list of free medical services that Ukrainians can receive in Slovakia has been shortened

Important information for Ukrainians in Slovakia: already in May, the policies of the country’s medical insurance companies will not provide reimbursement for dental services. In particular, it is about dental treatment and oral hygiene.

The restrictions apply to all residents of the country who have health insurance. Funds that were supposed to be used for dental treatment will be redistributed to other medical areas. Such an initiative was proposed by the Ministry of Health of Slovakia.

“Since 2019, health insurance companies have provided dental care. So far, it has served its purpose, as the increase in visits by patients for preventive examinations has led not only to better dental care, but also to the early detection of dental problems. The resources that health insurance companies planned to use to pay dental benefits until the end of 2024, will be transferred to pay for other necessary outpatient medical care, in accordance with the resolution on program budgeting,” the ministry said.
