The mayor of Tbilisi reacted emotionally to sanctions from Ukraine

Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze commented the introduction of sanctions by Ukraine against the Georgian government, stating that President Volodymyr Zelensky allegedly “carries out the interests of another state”.

According to Kaladze, he “understands the complexity of the situation” in which Zelensky is, and noted that “he would not wish anyone to find himself in such circumstances.”

“Today he does not belong to himself, does not belong to his family, and what is most difficult – he does not belong to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. He serves the interests of another country.” Kaladze emphasized.

The mayor is also confident that the Ukrainian people will soon analyze the events that are taking place and “understand with whose support this tragedy, which is currently unfolding in Ukraine, took place.” His words obviously referred to the war started by Russia.

In addition, Kaladze noted that many Ukrainian families who have found refuge in Georgia enjoy numerous benefits provided by the Tbilisi City Hall.

“We will, of course, support all these families, all these children, and this will be our response to what Zelensky said.” – he emphasized.
