The employees of the Security Intelligence Service reported the suspicion of desertion to the servicemen who shot the policemen in Vinnytsia region. The suspects were detained yesterday, April 21, in Odesa region.
About this informs DBR:
“The employees of the Security Intelligence Service reported the suspicion of desertion to the servicemen involved in the shooting of policemen in Vinnytsia region. Information regarding the theft of explosives and weapons by the suspects from the unit of their military unit is also being checked.”, – the message says.
According to the investigation, on April 19, 2024, the servicemen: father and son – voluntarily left the military unit in the Odesa region. They stole a service pistol that was attached to one of them. Later, around 2 a.m. on April 20, 2024, in the Vinnytsia region, the perpetrators shot at law enforcement officers and fled the scene. Law enforcement officers detained them on April 21, 2024 in the village of Lypetske, Podilsky District, Odesa.
According to the SBI, the suspects are charged with the intentional murder of two people, illegal possession of weapons and desertion with weapons committed under martial law.
The sanction of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.
