The Minister of Defense of Poland complained to the NATO Secretary General about the words of the President of Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys expressed his concern that, in his opinion, Ukraine is underestimating the aid that Poland provided during the war. In an interview with the program “Dot over i”, which quotes TVN24, the Polish minister emphasized that Poland has done a lot, and the Ukrainian side should take this into account.
Kosiniak-Kamysh said that during the meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, he particularly emphasized Poland’s significant efforts to support Ukraine. He expressed regret over the words of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, which, in his opinion, contained hints about the insufficiency of Polish aid.
“This is important in the context of President Zelenskyi’s words, where a note was sounded that Poland could do moreKosinyak-Kamysh noted.
The minister emphasized that Poland not only transferred military equipment, but also actively helped with humanitarian aid, especially in the first months of the war, and did not stop there.
However, the minister stressed that aid still has limits, and Poland will not sacrifice its own security.
“If the transfer of any equipment would endanger the security of the Polish state, I simply will not transfer this equipment“, Kosinyak-Kamysh added.
Earlier, Poland’s foreign minister noted that, compared to GDP, Poland provided more support to Ukraine than any other country. This assistance includes military, financial and humanitarian support, as well as assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
Earlier this year, a bilateral security agreement was signed between Poland and Ukraine, which allows intercepting missiles and drones in Ukrainian airspace if they are moving towards Poland. However, later the Polish Minister of Defense stated that the country will not shoot down such missiles without coordination with NATO.
