The Ministry of Defense did not receive reports of bullying in the 211th brigade: spokesman for the Ministry of Defense

Dmytro Lazutkin, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported, that the agency did not receive information about cases of abuse of servicemen of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We cannot say that this phenomenon is massive, but this phenomenon is unequivocally shameful, which contradicts the basic principles of building the modern Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian army is more than a million servicemen. There are different cases. We did not have information about these cases.”Lazutkin noted.
After a journalistic investigation in which was going about extortion of money, beatings and abuse of soldiers of the 211th brigade, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov instructed the Chief Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense to check these facts.
The leadership of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade abused the soldiers, forcing them to pay money, threatening to send them to the front as “cannon fodder”. One of the soldiers said that he was tied to a wooden cross and subjected to physical violence.
