“State rear operator” concluded an agreement with “UT Company” LLC to introduce a new food supply model for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2025. The pilot project starts in Kyiv and the Kyiv region and provides for a clear separation of procurement and logistics functions, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
Under the new contract, the producer contracting function will now go directly to the “Government Rear Operator” and the logistics operator will focus on the transportation of food products to military units, warehouse operations, shipment coordination, and documentation and payments.
The Ministry of Defense notes that such a model will help increase the transparency and efficiency of procurement, improve the coordination of all participants in the supply chain, and strengthen product quality control before it is delivered to military units.
“This is an important step for the modernization of the food system. The new format will make the processes transparent, efficient and convenient for all parties. The separation of logistics and procurement functions will ensure the highest quality of products that will be delivered to our military.” – emphasized the director of the Department of Procurement Policy of the Ministry of Defense Hleb Kanevskyi
The pilot project provides for constant monitoring of the results, which will allow to improve the model and scale it to other regions.
