The Ministry of Defense returned control of 350 hectares of defense land in six regions of Ukraine

Over the past six months, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine together with the State Geocadastre restored state rights to 69 defense plots with a total area of 350 hectares. About this informs press service of the department.
The specified territories are located in Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Odesa and Kirovohrad regions. During the past years, these lands were illegally seized from the Ministry of Defense, but now they are again available to strengthen the defense potential of the country.
“In the face of a full-scale Russian invasion, every hectare of defense land must be used for its intended purpose. Alienation of critically important territories is unacceptable. This is a matter of national security, so we must cooperate with the State Geocadaster in a coordinated manner“, said Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.
In order to prevent new cases of illegal land acquisition, in 2023-2024 the Ministry of Defense together with the State Geocadastre conducted an inventory and registered 84 land plots with a total area of 7,000 hectares in the State Land Cadastre.
In addition, as part of cooperation with the State Geocadastre in 2023-2024, 223 plots with an area of 15,000 hectares were inventoried and registered in the cadastre. It is planned to register an additional 4,500 hectares by the end of the year.
The Ministry of Defense and the State Geocadastre intend to continue to actively act in order to return the rights to the defense lands to the state.
