Losses for the state by UAH 1.5 billion: ARMA found the assets of former officials of the Ministry of Energy

The Agency for Search and Management of Assets (ARMA), in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), discovered the assets of former officials of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, who are suspected of causing losses to the state budget in the amount of 1.488 billion hryvnias. She reported about it press office ARMA.

The investigation claims that the officials deliberately blocked the implementation of the government decree on the operation of gas distribution systems, which allowed to evade payment for the use of state property. Due to such actions, according to law enforcement officers, the budget of Ukraine lost a significant amount in the period from May 2017 to December 2020.

To date, ARMA has already identified some assets of the participants in the case: three objects of residential and non-residential real estate, four land plots and two vehicles. In addition, work is ongoing with banking institutions to establish accounts and funds for them. ARMA Deputy Chairman Pavlo Velikorechanin assured that the agency is doing everything possible to search for and seize illegally acquired property.

All the received information was transferred to the pre-trial investigation authorities for the seizure and further transfer of assets to the ARMA administration.

Currently, ARMA also manages the corporate rights of 26 operators of gas distribution systems, which were transferred to JSC “DAK Chornomornaftogaz” in order to fulfill the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
