The Ministry of Defense will allocate another billion hryvnias for the purchase of drones

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will allocate an additional 1.1 billion hryvnias for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which will be transferred directly to the brigades for the prompt provision of their needs. About this during the government meeting stated Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“The Ministry of Defense allocates an additional 1.1 billion UAH for the purchase of drones. These funds will go directly to the brigades so that they can quickly cover the most important needs”, – he informed.
The head of the government added that in December the Ministry of Defense will transfer a total of 4.3 billion hryvnias to the brigades. For 11 months of 2024, financing has already amounted to 27.2 billion hryvnias. Of this amount, 8.8 billion hryvnias were allocated to the purchase of drones, 2.1 billion hryvnias to the purchase of cars, and 1.5 billion hryvnias to the purchase of radio-electronic security equipment.
“We are talking about the primary needs, which the brigades must cover as quickly and as a priority”, – added the Prime Minister.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and allowed the Ukrainian unmanned aviation complex “TOKKO” to be used in units of the Defense Forces. This system is equipped with kamikaze drones, resistant to the effects of enemy radio-electronic warfare.
