The Ministry of Economy has included a new section “Military Personnel” in the National Classifier of Professions

Ministry of Economy of Ukraine introduced a new section in the National Classifier of Professions — “Military Servicemen”. This section applies exclusively to servicemen and reservists of the operational reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service and the National Guard of Ukraine.
“For the first time in the years of independence in Ukraine, the professions of military personnel have been formalized in the Classifier of Professions. This step will not only contribute to increasing transparency in the personnel policy of the Armed Forces and other military formations, but will also ensure proper recognition of the complexity and importance of military service. The formalization of professions is a key element for building a modern, professional army capable of effectively performing tasks, in particular, in conditions of full-scale war, as well as integrating into the Euro-Atlantic structures”, – emphasized Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna.
Professional titles of military positions in three categories are included in the classifier: officer rank, sergeant (sergeant) rank, and private rank. Requirements for qualifications, military ranks and specialties for each position are determined by the staff of military units in accordance with the governing documents.
The new section does not cover servicemen of special law enforcement structures, such as the SBU, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the State Border Service, the State Special Intelligence Service, the UDO and other bodies with a special status.
The development of the section was carried out by experts of the Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces together with specialists of the National Guard, with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The profession classifier systematizes the names of professions, positions and occupations into professional groups by complexity, nature of work, level of education and specialization. This framework is based on the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) hierarchy.
