The Ministry of Economy has supplemented the list of goods subject to the localization requirement

Ministry of Economy of Ukraine for the first time took advantage of the procedure prescribed by law for expanding the list of products subject to the requirement of localization. The initiative was prompted by appeals from Ukrainian manufacturers of 25 product names, who expressed interest in joining the localization policy.

“The policy of localization has become an effective tool for supporting industry in wartime conditions and the basis for the creation of the “Made in Ukraine” state policy, which unites all key programs for the development of Ukrainian manufacturers. Thanks to her, we saved important production industries and jobs of Ukrainians during the war.

The fact that today the business itself is the initiator of the expansion of localization is an indicator that localization works and helps Ukrainian manufacturers to develop. We will continue to improve both localization and other programs to stimulate production, investment and export, united by the “Made in Ukraine” policy. — noted the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko.

Localization in the field of public procurement requires the mandatory presence of a minimum share of Ukrainian components in the cost of goods purchased from the state budget. Today, this requirement covers 103 types of products within four branches of mechanical engineering: railway, urban transport, utility equipment and energy equipment.

At the same time, it does not apply to goods manufactured in countries that are members of the WTO Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA), including the countries of the European Union, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Great Britain and others.
