The Ministry of Economy is preparing a new way to receive ‘Zelensky’s thousand’

The Ministry of Economy is working to introduce a mechanism for receiving payments under the ePromotion programme through Ukrposhta branches to help Ukrainians who do not have access to Diia. These payments will not be subject to taxation, UNN reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.
The programme, which is scheduled to start on 1 December 2024, provides for the payment of UAH 1,000 to every Ukrainian, except for those who are abroad.
‘The war has increased the number of socially vulnerable citizens, and the goal of the President and the government is to support every Ukrainian. It is expected that the mechanism of the ePromotion programme will be universal, not selective, so that citizens of all categories across the country can receive funds. We cannot predict which targets and cities the Russians may shell and where people will need help the most. Theonly exceptions will be those citizens who have travelled abroad,’ the Ministry of Economy said.
It is emphasised that the programme will allow even those who do not have a smartphone or access to Diia to receive payments.
‘Ukrainians are already familiar with the ePidtrymka programme: during the Covid and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, citizens could receive one-time financial assistance from the state. Now a similar programme is being introduced. Applications for participation in the programme can be submitted via Diia in December, January or February. To do this, you need to activate your National Cashback card. The payment will be credited to this card. It will be possible to spend UAH 1 thousand during 2025 to pay for utilities and other services, buy medicines, books or donate to funds that support the Defence Forces,’ the Ministry of Economy added.
