The Cabinet of Ministers wants to oblige conscripts to register for military service at the age of 17

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine proposes to amend the legislation by canceling commissions on military registration of conscripts. The relevant draft law of the government №12076 already registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
The draft law also provides for the exclusion of obligations for local self-government bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations and educational institutions to submit lists of citizens who are subject to military registration of conscripts to the relevant district or city territorial recruitment centers (TCC).
Instead, the duty to submit their data rests with the conscripts themselves. They will be able to register remotely through the “Rezerv+” platform or appear in person at the TCC. In case of non-fulfillment of this requirement, fines in the amount of 17 to 25.5 thousand hryvnias are provided.
According to the draft law, every year from January 1 to July 31, male citizens of Ukraine who turn 17 must register in the Unified State Register of conscripts, conscripts and reservists. This can be done in two ways: through the electronic cabinet or in person by submitting the necessary documents to the TCC.
We remind you that military registration is currently conducted during January-March.
Important reasons for not fulfilling the requirements for electronic registration or arrival at the TCC are: illness, natural disasters, living in occupied or combat territories, as well as other circumstances that do not allow fulfilling these requirements.
If citizens do not register within the prescribed time frame, they will be required to do so in person upon reaching the age of 18, while paying a fine.
