The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine accused the IAEA of violating the sovereignty of the state
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine accused IAEA employees of violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state. For the first time, the rotation of these employees at Zaporizhzhya NPP took place without coordination with Ukraine. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“Ukraine has sent a note of protest to the leadership of the IAEA, in which it condemns the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state and warns against repeating any similar actions in the future.” – the message says.
It is noted that the Russian Federation refused to provide security guarantees to IAEA employees in the event of their passage through territory controlled by Ukraine, thereby “forcing the Agency to agree to Russian conditions.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the rotation carried out by the IAEA as a “humanitarian evacuation under conditions of threat to people’s lives and health.” Also, the Ukrainian side plans to bring the issue of unprecedented Russian blackmail to the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors in the coming days.
