The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit to nationalize the assets of oligarch Deripaska for 2 billion hryvnias

According to the materials of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice appealed to the High Anti-Corruption Court with a lawsuit to impose sanctions on the Russian aluminum company and its owner Oleg Deripaska, as well as to recover their assets for the benefit of the state in the amount of more than 2 billion hryvnias. The lawsuit refers to the nationalization of more than 440,000 tons of bauxite and 110,000 tons of metallurgical alumina. According to the investigation, the ultimate owner of this raw material is a sanctioned Russian oligarch who owns the world’s largest aluminum production enterprise. The products of this company were supplied to Russian enterprises of the military-industrial complex, which manufacture military equipment, weapons and ammunition for the Russian occupiers.

The pre-trial investigation continues in the criminal proceedings on the fact of financing actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order (Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The law enforcement officers do not disclose the name of the sanctioned oligarch, however, judging by the details of the case, it is Oleg Deripaska.

We will remind that at the beginning of the year, the court seized Deripaska’s assets in Ukraine in the amount of more than 2 billion hryvnias. In particular, almost 500,000 people were arrested. tons of bauxite and alumina produced in Ukraine even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

These products were stored in the warehouses of the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, which used to belong to Deripaska. It was a key component for the production of aluminum at the oligarch’s Russian plants, in particular at the enterprises of the Rusal company.
