“For the Netherlands, energy is one of the priorities in helping Ukraine. We have already done a lot to support your country, and we are constantly looking for new opportunities. Colleagues are constantly in touch with the Ukrainian side to understand how else we can help Ukraine survive this winter “, – he noted
During the last three years, the Netherlands has been helping Ukraine in various ways — providing moral, humanitarian, economic, military support, as well as contributing to the reconstruction of the country. €3.8 billion has already been allocated, and another €6 billion is planned in the near future, bringing the total amount of aid to more than €10 billion.
The ambassador also emphasized that Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s aggression is a common cause of Europe, because it is about protecting security, stability and European values.
“When the war is over, the EU will definitely have a long-term relationship with Ukraine, and I believe that everything that the EU and its member states are doing now in terms of providing military aid to Ukraine will partially shift towards economic support, reconstruction, etc.,” – adding to Alla Dorhout.
