The police liquidated a criminal organization that had millions of dollars in revenue from the sale of drugs in Ukraine
Law enforcement officers eliminated a large-scale criminal network that produced and distributed more than 60 kg of amphetamine every month. The activities of the group covered six oblasts of Ukraine, and the profits from the illegal drug business reached 18 million hryvnias per month. The investigation established that an organized group was supplying precursors to 18 underground laboratories. The leader of the group controlled the purchase of raw materials, and the executors packaged the drugs in rented apartments, which were changed every two weeks. Implementation took place through postal shipments and so-called “bookmarks”, and the perpetrators used disposable SIM cards for the conspiracy.
The police also exposed a separate group of persons involved in the legalization of income from drug trafficking. Through impersonators, they opened bank accounts and electronic wallets, where millions of sums were received. In total, more than 200 million hryvnias passed through this scheme, which were then converted into cryptocurrency, withdrawn to deposit crypto wallets and transferred to cash in Cyprus.
In ten regions, law enforcement officers conducted more than 100 searches, during which they seized luxury cars, 80 thousand dollars, 60 kg of cannabis, 7 kg of “a-PVP”, 3.5 kg of amphetamine, 900 “MDMA” pills, fake bank cards and other evidence of criminal activity.
According to the results of the special operation, 11 members of the group were detained, another 16 people were notified of suspicion. They will be responsible before the law for participation in a criminal organization, illegal trafficking of drugs and precursors, as well as money laundering. The extras face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
