The Prosecutor General and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court visited the places of war crimes of the Russian Federation

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin, together with the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan and Brenda J. Hollis, the head of international crimes investigations in Ukraine from the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, visited the places where terrible war crimes were committed by the Russian occupiers – the Children’s Hospital “Okhmatdyt” and torture chamber in Gostomel. At the “Okhmatdyt” hospital, the delegation inspected the territory affected by the Russian attacks and met with the victims, including medical personnel. Prosecutor General Kostin together with Deputy Head of the SBU Serhiy Naumyuk spoke in detail about the investigation into the shelling. They also showed fragments of the Kh-101 missile found at the impact site.
During the visit to Gostomel, the delegation inspected the torture chambers set up by the Russian military in the occupied city on the territory of the resort. In these premises, in particular, in freezers, Ukrainian civilians and military personnel, who were brought from various regions of Kyiv region, were kept.
Karim Khan personally spoke with two civilians who were initially held in this torture chamber and later illegally deported to Russia.
