The Russian Federation agreed to be a mediator between the United States and Iran in negotiations on the nuclear program

Russia has agreed to mediate between the US and Iran in negotiations over the nuclear program. Donald Trump conveyed his interest in Russian mediation directly to Vladimir Putin during their phone conversation in February, informs Bloomberg.

Donald Trump’s administration is negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program and support for regional anti-American allies. Trump personally conveyed to Putin his interest in Russian assistance on the issue during a phone conversation between the two presidents in February. A few days later, senior officials of the US administration discussed this issue with their Russian counterparts at negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

“Russia believes that the United States and Iran should resolve all issues through negotiations. Moscow is ready to do everything in its power for this.” – noted Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov.

It will be recalled that since taking office about six weeks ago, Donald Trump has been trying to restore relations with Vladimir Putin, which the United States severed after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
