The Russian Federation launched an airstrike on Kupiansk: several people were injured, others probably remain under the rubble

In the evening of April 12, the Russian army carried out another targeted attack on a residential building in the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. As reported Oleg Sinegubov, head of the regional military administration, at around 6:20 p.m. an enemy guided air bomb hit a private residential building, causing extensive destruction.
As a result of the impact, at least four people were injured. Among the victims are three women aged 25, 52 and 73, as well as a 26-year-old man. Medics provided them with help, but the exact condition of the wounded was not specified at the time of publication. Rescuers working at the scene of the tragedy do not rule out that three more people may be under the rubble of the destroyed building. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, involving emergency teams, medics and police representatives.
This strike is yet another evidence of Russia’s systemic tactics using high-precision aviation munitions against civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv region. Kupyansk, located near the front line, is regularly targeted by enemy aircraft and artillery.
The day before, on April 11, the Kharkiv region was also subjected to massive attacks with the use of various types of weapons. According to the police, Russian troops bombarded populated areas with guided aerial bombs, barrel artillery, rocket launchers, FPV drones and kamikaze drones.
Kharkiv, Chuguyiv, Bogoduhiv, Izyum and Kupyan districts were under attack. In particular, in the village of Slatine, a 69-year-old man was found under the rubble of a destroyed residential building, and the rescuers managed to get him alive.
The situation in Kharkiv Oblast remains extremely tense. Russian troops are increasingly using high-precision weapons against the civilian population, which are designed to hit military targets, but are regularly directed at civilian objects. Ukrainian authorities and international observers call such actions war crimes that must be documented and investigated.
