The SBI initiates the recovery of millions of assets of the head of the State Tax Service of Sumy region in favor of the state
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation discovered assets worth millions of hryvnias, the legality of which has not been confirmed, in one of the heads of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Sumy region. Currently, an appeal has been submitted to the State Security Agency with a claim to recognize these assets as unfounded and to confiscate them in favor of the state. informs DBR press office.
In June 2023, the official bought a premium car worth more than 3 million hryvnias for his wife at one of the Dnipro car dealerships. Formally, the owner of the car became a bogus person close to the official.
Also, during 2020-2023, he bought three apartments in new buildings and one non-residential premises in Dnipro. The total value of these objects exceeded 5 million hryvnias. The property was registered to his mother-in-law, who is a pensioner.
In total, expenses for a car and real estate amounted to more than 7 million hryvnias, which significantly exceeds the official income of the taxman. The property has been seized to enforce the claim. The work to identify unjustified incomes of officials continues.
The materials and additional data collected by the National Security Agency were transferred to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. On their basis, SAP prosecutors filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court with a demand to recognize these assets as unfounded and to charge them to state income.
