The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) announced suspicion of illegal enrichment of the Director General of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”

On July 21, the State Bureau of Investigation announced suspicion of illegal enrichment to the general director of the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”, which unites about 150 forest farms. About this reported Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

The company has been headed by Yuriy Bolokhovets since its creation in 2023. He was informed of suspicion under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation believes that as early as 2021, while serving as the head of the State Forestry Agency, Bolokhovets acquired assets in the amount of 10.4 million hryvnias, which significantly exceeds his legal income. Among other things, we are talking about an apartment in Kyiv worth over 9 million hryvnias, which, according to the investigation, was registered to a dummy person, but actually belonged to Bolokhovets.

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption recorded a discrepancy of 7.9 million hryvnias between declared income and property.

“This is only a separate episode in dozens of criminal proceedings concerning the State Enterprise “Lisa Ukrainy”, Ruslan Kravchenko commented on the case.

In response to the accusations, the press service of “Forests of Ukraine” emphasized, that the investigation is based on assumptions that were “repeatedly refuted with arguments.”

“All the assets of Yuriy Bolokhovets are listed in the declaration. The objects rented by the family of Yuriy Bolokhovets belong to the real owners with confirmed incomes and were acquired legally. The pressure on Yuriy Bolokhovets is related to his principled position regarding transparent market mechanisms for the sale of wood and systematic work on the detinization of the forest industry.”, the company said in a statement.
