The suspension of aid programs does not apply to the supply of weapons to Ukraine: the Pentagon

The decree of US President Donald Trump, which suspends the international aid program for 90 days, does not apply to military support to Ukraine. About this reported service to the Pentagon.
“Security assistance to Ukraine is not subject to the restrictions of the recent foreign aid decree, as it only applies to development programs, not military support,” – explained the US Ministry of Defense.
Thus, Trump’s executive order does not affect contracts awarded under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) program during the Joe Biden administration to manufacture weapons for Ukraine.
Also, the order does not apply to the supply of weapons from US warehouses, which was previously planned and carried out under the Presidential Stockpile Reduction Authority (PDA), which was also initiated by Biden.
Currently, it remains unclear how Trump’s presidential decree may affect non-military aid to Ukraine. The US Embassy in Ukraine refrains from additional comments on this issue, referring only to the published text of the presidential decree.
