Private joint-stock company “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” has decided to sell six dry cargo ships, which are considered non-core assets of the company. About this reported press service of the enterprise.
“UDP is starting the implementation of the sea fleet! Painful, but the only correct decision. The key segment of UDP is river freight transportation. We need to get rid of unprofitable non-core assets and direct resources to the modernization of the river fleet”, the message says.
The company emphasized that it is river transportation that has the prospect of development, while the sea fleet no longer meets the strategic priorities of shipping.
Vessels will be sold through the Prozorro system. Sales on December 13, 2024. All six vessels – “Izmail”, “Vilkovo”, “Reni”, “Viana do Castelo”, “Kilia” and “Tatarbunary” – are put up for sale as one lot.
“Shipowners are definitely more interested in the repaired “Vilkovo” and “Izmail”, with documents ready for work. However, it is important that a buyer is also found for “Tatarbunary”, “Viana do Castelo”, “Kilia” and “Reni”, which have been in operation for many years are at a standstill,” – noted in the UDP.
