The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, called on the countries of the United Nations Organization to take decisive measures to return Ukrainian children who were abducted by Russia. He stated this during an interactive dialogue with the special representative of the UN Secretary-General on children and armed conflicts, Virginia Gamba, within the framework of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

Lubinets in his address emphasized on the scale of the tragedy unfolding because of the war with the Russian Federation. “Ukraine is grateful for the attention paid to the tragedy that is unfolding before the eyes of the whole world: the destruction of the childhood of Ukrainian children due to the aggression of the Russian Federation. I call on the world not to be silent about this. Therefore, I appealed to the UN member states to make maximum efforts to: stop crimes against Ukrainian children, search for, identify and return deportees, and bring the guilty to justice.” said Dmytro Lubinets.

During the dialogue, Virginia Gamba emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to stop crimes against children.
