The UN General Assembly for the first time called Russia’s war against Ukraine “aggressive”

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning human rights violations in the occupied territories of Ukraine and calling Russia’s aggression a “war of aggression” for the first time. About this reported at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“It is important that this document became the first UN resolution in which the General Assembly calls the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine a “war of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine”. – says the message.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the adoption of the updated resolution entitled “Situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol”, which was supported by 81 states.
The document covers all the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, which contributes to increased monitoring by the UN and the international community for crimes and serious violations committed by the Russian occupation authorities against the local population. In this regard, the UN General Assembly calls on the Russian Federation to immediately stop aggression against Ukraine and withdraw all its troops from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
“The General Assembly once again confirmed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and the non-recognition of any changes in the status of Ukrainian territories”, – emphasized in the department.
