The United States is ready to take over the management of Ukrainian nuclear power plants

The United States is ready to take over control of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants if it helps end the war between Russia and Ukraine. About this stated US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

“No problem, we can do it. I don’t think it requires a presence on the ground, but I will leave foreign policy to President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio. I know they are working hard.” Wright noted.

At the same time, he specified that the Trump administration is currently not considering the transfer of Ukrainian nuclear power plants to the ownership of the United States.

We will remind that Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed with Donald Trump the situation around the Zaporizhzhia NPP. In particular, it was about Washington taking up the restoration of the station and ensuring its full operation.

Zelenskyi emphasized that the de-occupation of the nuclear power plant alone is not enough, because the entire infrastructure — water supply and technical personnel — is needed for the plant to start making a profit and producing electricity in one and a half to two years.

“Trump asked if the US could rebuild the station. I answered: yes, for example, you can invest funds. It can be discussed, but it was only about one station, which is currently under occupation.” – emphasized Zelensky.
