The United States plans to increase the production of missiles, some of which will go to Ukraine

The US Department of Defense has signed a $253.7 million contract with Williams International to expand the production of missiles, including those supplied as part of military aid to Ukraine. About this reported on the Pentagon’s official website.

According to the statement, the contract provides for the expansion of Williams International’s capacity to produce gas turbine engines needed for the production of high-precision weapons. We are talking about such types of missiles as anti-ship Harpoon, winged Tomahawk, AGM-158 JASSM air-to-ground class and long-range AGM-158C LRASM.

Funds for the implementation of the contract are allocated within the framework of the Law on Additional Appropriations for Security Needs in the Indo-Pacific Region and Ukraine for 2024. This law is aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of US allies and supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.

This contract is part of a broader program that includes five agreements awarded within the scope of the DPAP program office beginning in fiscal year 2025, totaling $290.8 million.
