The US State Department announced the results of negotiations with Russia in Saudi Arabia

During the negotiations in Saudi Arabia, the US and Russian delegations took a step forward on the path to peace in Ukraine, reaching agreements on a number of issues. This was stated by the representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, reports Reuters.
“One phone call and a subsequent meeting is not enough to establish lasting peace. We must act, and today we have taken an important step forward.”, – said Bruce.
In the final statement following the negotiations, the representative of the State Department emphasized that the United States seeks to stop the bloodshed and uses its influence in the world to unite countries. According to her, President Trump is the only world leader capable of persuading Ukraine and Russia to reach agreements.
She also reported that during the negotiations, representatives of the US and Russia agreed on the following steps:
- “To create a consultation mechanism to eliminate irritants in our bilateral relations in order to take measures necessary to normalize the work of our diplomatic missions.
- Appoint appropriate high-level teams to begin work on ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible in a way that is strong, sustainable and acceptable to all parties.
- Lay the foundation for future cooperation on issues of mutual geopolitical interest, as well as historic economic and investment opportunities that will arise as a result of a successful end to the conflict in Ukraine.
- Remain engaged to ensure the process moves forward in a timely and productive manner.”
