The USA is waiting for the appointment of a new head of Ukrenergo and the staffing of the supervisory board

Ukraine needs to quickly fill the supervisory board of NEC Ukrenergo after several independent board members resigned in protest against the dismissal of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the company’s former chief executive. Only after that, it will be possible to elect a new head of the NEC.
This was stated by the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, informs “European truth”. She noted that the issue is being discussed at the diplomatic level, but did not reveal the details of the negotiations.
“I will not reveal our diplomatic communication”Brink said.
The ambassador also emphasized the importance of the independence of “Ukrenergo” for the attraction of American investments in the energy sector of Ukraine. According to her, trust in the independence of the institution and the supervisory board is a key factor for foreign investors.
“Our recommendation is to fill three vacant positions in the supervisory board and elect a new company manager in accordance with OECD standards”, said the diplomat.
Kudrytskyi’s release was initiated after the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on August 30, with the participation of Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko. He was offered to resign voluntarily, but Kudrytskyi refused, which led to his dismissal by the decision of the supervisory board on September 2.
After that, the chairman of the supervisory board, Daniel Dobbeni, and the independent member of the board, Peder Andreason, resigned, expressing disagreement with the dismissal of Kudrytskyi, which, in their opinion, was politically motivated. They said there was no valid reason for the dismissal, based on the company’s performance reports.
International donors appealed to Ukrainian government officials to postpone this decision until the supervisory board is fully staffed.
