The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on raising the salaries of officials

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that introduces uniform approaches to the payment of civil servants, based on the classification of positions. The law provides for salary increases up to 70-90% of the level of remuneration for similar positions in the private sector. About this informs People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to the deputy, 259 people’s representatives supported the government draft law No. 8222. Zheleznyak also noted that during the voting in the second reading, an amendment was taken into account, which provides for a salary increase for employees of the State Audit Service of Ukraine.
“But the amendments on increased pay for the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Economy flew. Also, the amendment on the salaries of the staff of the Verkhovna Rada did not pass (the possibility of setting a seniority bonus of more than 30% of the salary of employees of the staff of the Verkhovna Rada)”. – he explained.
In the draft law, the Cabinet of Ministers proposed to increase the competitiveness of wages in civil service positions.
“Within five years, it is expected to reach from 70 to 90 percent of the salary for positions of a similar level of complexity and responsibility in the private sector. It is proposed to achieve this by introducing a classification of positions, changing the calculation value for determining the minimum salary of a civil servant and setting it at the level of at least one minimum salary established by law.” – says the explanatory note.
