The Verkhovna Rada approved the draft law on the protection of the rights of land owners

At its meeting on August 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a revised law on the protection of interests of owners of land shares and improvement of administrative procedures in the field of land relations. The law was adopted taking into account the proposals of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reported press service of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
Draft law No. 11150, developed by the specialized committee, received the support of 248 people’s deputies.
The main provisions of the draft law include the extension of the deadline for registration of unclaimed (undistributed) land plots until 2028, as well as the distribution of land between owners of shares and their heirs from the collective property remaining after the previous distribution.
In addition, the law restores the mandatory training of certified land surveyors and continues until 2026 the pilot project of entering information into the State Land Cadastre by certified specialists.
It is also provided for the use of funds coming to the relevant budgets to compensate losses of forestry production, in particular for the development of land management projects and the implementation of relevant measures. Funds left in local budgets from compensation for agricultural losses will now be directed to land protection.
