The Verkhovna Rada confirmed the restrictions on the mobilization of men who have reached the age of 50

Men aged 50 to 60 will be mobilized only under a special mobilization order, which defines an exclusive approach to their conscription. About it in the comment for LIGA.net told member of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense, Fedir Venislavskyi.
He noted that the relevant directive of the Ground Forces Command contains a provision that significantly limits the mobilization of men of this age category. This decision is the result of the agreed position of the country’s military leadership.
According to the new rules, after reaching the age of 50, only those conscripts who have a shortage of military specialties will be called up for service. All such conscriptions will be carried out exclusively according to separate mobilization orders issued by the General Staff, Venislavskyi added.
It will be recalled that previously People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko reported that territorial recruiting centers have suspended the recruitment of disabled citizens aged 18 to 25. He also specified that conscripts aged 50-60 can be called up only by special order of the General Staff.
The Command of the Ground Forces confirmed that changes were indeed made to the rules of mobilization of certain categories of conscripts, however, the details of these changes are currently not disclosed.
