The Verkhovna Rada ordered Umerov to appear at the Committee on National Security

Verkhovna Rada supported a proposal to oblige Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to participate in a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence to discuss the provision of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the event of possible problems with supplies from the United States.
People’s deputy from the “Voice” faction Roman Kostenko stated that Defense Minister Umyerov systematically does not attend committee meetings, despite numerous invitations:
“I would like to put to a vote a proposal to pass a decision on instructing the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence to prepare for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada the issue of providing armaments to our Armed Forces in the event of problems with our partners, the United States of America, and to urgently hold a meeting of the Committee with the mandatory participation of the Minister of Defense.”
234 people’s deputies voted for this proposal.
It will be recalled that the day before the Deputy of the “Voice” faction Solomiya Bobrovska reported that the Minister of Defense refused to participate in a closed meeting of the Defense Committee, where he was supposed to report on “the current state and prospects of diversification of the provision of international military aid.”
