The Verkhovna Rada strengthens the protection of critical infrastructure from collaborators

April 25, 2024 Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted Law No. 7731, aimed at protecting critical infrastructure enterprises from persons cooperating with the aggressor state.
The law prohibits the work of collaborators at enterprises, institutions and organizations of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine, as well as at critical infrastructure facilities, such as nuclear power plants.
To strengthen control, the concept of “rules of conduct at the enterprise” is introduced. These rules will oblige employees to report contacts with persons on the territory of the aggressor or temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, as well as to maintain confidentiality. Establishing such rules will become mandatory for critical infrastructure enterprises.
The law gives employers the right to fire an employee if they are convicted of a crime against national security or conduct violations.
