The war in Ukraine will continue for a long time: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Sweden

Mikael Biden, Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, in an interview The mirror declared that the war in Ukraine has reached a dead end and may continue for a long time. He noted that only minor changes are taking place at the front, and neither side has enough strength for a decisive victory.

The war has been at a stalemate for several months now, with no signs of change in sight. There is no end in sight to the war, and neither Russia nor Ukraine have sufficient capabilities to win it militarily. I expect the war to continue for a very long time“, – he said.

Biden emphasized that Russia is superior to Ukraine militarily, in particular, thanks to a larger volume of weapons production. Sweden takes this situation into account when forming military aid to Ukraine and ensuring its own strategic security.

“Putin has set up the Russian economy for war in a way that we cannot. The Russians are currently producing a huge amount of weapons, far more than we can supply to Ukraine.”, – said Biden.

The commander-in-chief also noted that although the West intends to support Ukraine, the process of decision-making and assistance is quite slow.
