Soon, the hot season – the admission campaign – will begin in all universities of the country. Currently, educational institutions are holding the last days of open doors, encouraging applicants to make a choice in every possible way. Instead, this year’s graduates are focused on completing the NMT. The main testing session has already started. Since each year brings with it changes that today’s applicants should be aware of, we have made a note for you of the main requirements for admission and its current timeline.
The national multi-subject test this year consists of 4 subjects. Of them, 3 are mandatory: Ukrainian language, Mathematics, History of Ukraine. One is given to choose from: Foreign language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Ukrainian literature, Geography). Entrants can also use the NMT of 2022-2023 (from 3 subjects) or the results of the ZNO of 2021. However, combining NMT or ZNO results of different years is not allowed this year.
To enter the art specialty, applicants must also pass a creative competition, and those who aspire to acquire a sports specialty pass a competition of physical abilities.
Entrants this year have the right to submit up to 5 applications for budget places and up to 15 for all funding sources. When applying for the budget, the applicant must decide on the priority of specialties (educational programs). It is about their ranking (from 1 to 5), according to which the order of consideration of the application of the entrant who claims a budget place is determined. In 2024, both the applicant’s competitive score and the results of consideration of his motivation letter will be taken into account. What kind of document is this? In an arbitrary form, addressing the management of the chosen higher education institution, the entrant must describe his motives, inclinations, desires for acquiring a certain profession, as well as talk about his abilities and vision of himself in the future profession.
It should also not be forgotten that entrants have the right to take part in the competitive selection for places of state or regional order under the conditions, if their competitive score is not lower than 130.
The limit of 150 points is set for specialties 08 “Law”, 28 “Public management and administration”, 29 “International relations”, specialties 221 “Dentistry”, 222 “Medicine”, 226 “Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy” field of knowledge 22 “Health care ‘I”.
Instead, there are areas that receive state support. When entering the fields of Education/Pedagogy, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Automation and Electronic Communications, Architecture and Construction, Agricultural Sciences and Food, the branch coefficient is applied to the competitive score of 1.02, if the application has a priority of 1 and 2. Transfer of NMT test scores to a scale of 100-200 is carried out in accordance with tables from Appendix 5 to the Admission Procedure.
We advise you to take care of the correct ranking of your applications in advance, because the budget proposal and your chances of studying under the budget form depend on this.
