“To consider does not mean to agree”: the Russian Federation announced its readiness to listen to Trump’s proposals regarding the war in Ukraine

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Serhiy Ryabkov said that Russia is ready to consider the proposals of the administration of the future US President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine. This is reported by the Russian agency “RIA-Novosti”.

“If the next administration of the United States is serious about dealing with this issue and puts forward certain ideas, then certainly there will be an open position on our part, and we will consider it. However, to consider does not mean to agree. Everything that is the unchanging basis and foundation of our position, the president expressed many times”Ryabkov emphasized.

According to him, so far Trump’s team has not contacted Moscow. Also, Ryabkov did not give any details about the Russian position on this issue.

“Read what was said at the meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, read what the president said at the great Valdai Club. This is a program and a basis for moving towards settlement. We see no alternative.”, he emphasized.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, also noted that Moscow has not yet received concrete proposals from Donald Trump regarding the settlement of the so-called “Ukrainian crisis” that would take into account the interests and concerns of the Russian side.
