Traitors who fought in the ranks of the Russian Federation received 15 years in prison

Six captured traitors who fought on the side of the Russian Federation in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions received 15 years in prison each. As informs SBU, these militants were captured this fall during intense fighting in eastern Ukraine.
All the convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, who voluntarily joined the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Among them is a former employee of the disbanded Berkut special unit, who joined the occupiers back in 2014.
After the start of the full-scale war, he assumed the position of the commander of the reconnaissance unit in the 7th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation and participated in the capture of Svitlodarsk and the storming of Toretsk.
Another figure is a former employee of the Horliv locomotive depot, who signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in March 2023. After training at the training ground in occupied Makiivka, he was sent to the front line as a machine gunner of the 1st separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation.
Among the convicts are those who fought in the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Federation. In particular, they attacked Ukrainian positions with the help of kamikaze drones near the village of New York. Another traitor was detained during the battle near the village of Dachne.
The court found them guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: treason (parts 1, 2 of article 111) and collaborative activity (part 7 of article 111-1). All six were sentenced to 15 years in prison.
