The Cabinet of Ministers supported the NSDC plan to preserve the national identity of Ukrainians in Russia

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the plan developed by the National Security and Defense Council. The document is aimed at preserving the national identity of Ukrainians living in the Russian Federation. About this reported people’s deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
In particular, it provides for the collection and analysis of facts regarding crimes committed against Ukrainians who live or have lived on the territory of Russia, as well as in regions historically inhabited by ethnic Ukrainians. Special attention will be paid to the study of the policy of forced Russification, political repressions and deportations of Ukrainians.
In addition, the plan includes strengthening work against Russian propaganda aimed at distorting the history of the Ukrainian people and other peoples enslaved by Russia. The development of cooperation between Ukrainians and representatives of enslaved peoples living in the Russian Federation is also foreseen.
In Ukraine, they plan to create and distribute informational materials about the thousand-year history of Ukrainian statehood and the historical ties of the lands inhabited by ethnic Ukrainians. Particular attention will be paid to the inclusion of this information in educational programs and textbooks in order to highlight the history of ethnic Ukrainians in the territories historically inhabited by them within the borders of Russia.
We will remind you that in June of this year, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution recognizing the genocidal nature of Russia’s actions against Ukraine.
