Trump announces ceasefire between Iran and Israel

US President Donald Trump reported, that Israel and Iran had reached an agreement on a full and final 12-hour ceasefire, which he said began on the morning of June 24.
“Israel and Iran have fully agreed to a full and final cease-fire (in about 6 hours, when Israel and Iran complete their current, final missions!) that will last 12 hours, after which the war will be considered over! Iran will officially begin a cease-fire, 12 hours later Israel will begin a cease-fire, and 24 hours later the world will welcome the official end of the 12-day war”, Trump said.
He noted that during the armistice, the parties will remain peaceful and behave with respect. Trump also expressed hope that everything would go well, and congratulated both sides that “they showed endurance, courage and intelligence to end what should be called the 12-day war.”
“This war could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t and never will.” – concluded the US president.
Shortly thereafter, in a new post on TruthSocial, Trump announced that the truce between Israel and Iran had already gone into effect.
“The cease-fire is in effect. Please do not violate it,” he wrote.
For its part, Israel officially announced the cessation of hostilities in the war with Iran. In a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office is emphasized, that Israel not only achieved all the goals of the operation, but also exceeded them, in particular, it eliminated “the immediate existential dual threat – in the nuclear sphere and in the ballistic missile sphere.”
In addition, the Israel Defense Forces reported that it had established full control over Tehran’s airspace and struck Iran’s top military command with heavy strikes, destroying dozens of strategic infrastructure facilities.
“Israel thanks President Trump and the United States for its defense support and participation in the elimination of the Iranian nuclear threat. Given the achievement of the objectives of the operation and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel agreed to the President’s proposal for a bilateral ceasefire”, – said the office’s statement.
Iranian state television on the morning of June 24 also reported on the start of the cease-fire, which started at 07:30 local time, despite Israel’s warning about a potential new missile attack from the Iranian side.
It is reported that Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, whom Trump personally asked to act as a mediator after the Iranian strikes on the American military base in Qatar, contributed to the agreement on the truce.
