Trump expanded the powers of Musk’s department

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order expanding the powers of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is headed by Elon Musk. About this informs The Guardian.
The bill would reform federal spending on contracts, grants and loans by requiring government agencies to create a centralized system to record and justify payments. The decree is aimed at increasing the transparency and accountability of civil servants.
Under the new requirements, DOGE heads of federal agencies must submit monthly reports on contracting activities, including an explanation of expenses and business travel. However, these rules do not apply to military and law enforcement agencies, immigration services and entities related to national security.
It will be recalled that on February 23, Musk demanded that US federal employees provide reports on the work performed by the evening of February 24, warning that they could be fired if they do not comply with this order.
