Trump launches website to register for $5 million immigration “golden card”

Donald Trump launched a site for those wishing to register for a “golden card”, which will allow wealthy applicants to obtain permanent residence in the United States for $5 million.

Trump said the new card, which is expected to replace the EB-5 investor visa, could generate up to 1 million sales and generate enough funds to pay off the national debt.

“For five million dollars comes the Trump Card! Thousands of people have been calling and asking how they can sign up to embark on a beautiful journey to access the Greatest Country and Market in the entire world. It’s called the United States of America! The waiting list is open. To sign up, go to – trumpcard.gov.” Trump emphasized.

Trumpcard.gov, which launched on June 11, currently collects the names, email addresses and regions of origin of interested individuals.

The golden card system is based on an updated version of the EB-5 visa program, which allows foreigners who have invested about $1 million in the United States to get a green card. It differs from a visa in that it grants the right to permanent residence in the country and opens the possibility of obtaining citizenship. Unlike some visas that tie foreigners to specific jobs, a green card gives migrants the freedom to choose a job.

In the 1990s, Congress established the EB-5 visa program with various threshold conditions. It allows investors and their families to obtain the status of permanent residents of the United States, provided that they make significant investments in the country’s economy and create new jobs. According to the Invest In the USA (IIUSA) trade association, 135,518 EB-5 visas have been issued over the past two and a half decades.
