According to Volz, one of the priorities will be the review of approaches to providing assistance to Ukraine, in particular, the development of economic partnership and cooperation in the field of critical minerals. He emphasized that the US expects to benefit from significant investments directed to Ukraine, and expressed hope for the speedy signing of relevant agreements.
Among the main directions of Trump’s policy regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine, Volz singled out:
- Signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of rare earth metals;
- Achieving a ceasefire;
- Review of US-Russia relations;
- Strengthening cooperation with European allies.
French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are expected to arrive in the USA in the near future. They plan to demonstrate “unified leadership in support of Ukraine” during meetings with Donald Trump.
“We welcome their ideas on security guarantees and European leadership to ensure Europe’s security in the future.” Volz noted.
